Big Map Combinations Beginners Guide and Secrets for ATS & ETS2 1.58 (2026)
Map Combos for SCS trucking games are not an easy for newcomers. So you can find lot of ready setups for actual version, including here on Trucksim, but before start better to avoid obvious mistakes. In this guide I’m explaining how to build map combo for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) or American Truck Simulator (ATS), from how to download and combine maps, to tricks how to avoid crashes. I will cover the basics for beginners. Guide made in 2024 but is still actual in April 2026 on game versions 1.58 and latest DLCs

Map Combo Study 03.19.2026
Since we already have news and signals that new game version 1.59 is around the corner below big versions of map combo can be final, unless something interesting happens on ETS2 1.58. I started later with map combo setups but now we are good in Europe and America with big and giga combinations. I’m not rushing out a combo setup just to be first. I’m not interested in clickbait or quick tricks to gain views. Instead, I will release a combination setup that I personally enjoy and would actually use myself — even if that means it comes out later and don’t updates every day.
There are already well-established rules and best practices that help avoid conflicts and common mistakes I’ve covered in Beginner’s Guide, which I strongly recommend watching before building or updating your map combo. It will save you time, prevent recurring issues, and help you create a stable and enjoyable setup from the start.

100% discovered study 03.15.2026
Currently on version 1.58 we have 100% discovered maps for both games. In ETS2, guide and files for previous version is still actual, so I did not do updated version.
However, in ATS, we received a major map update with the Route 66 rework and new guide is here. But we’re expecting the Illinois DLC soon, so new challenges ahead.

I do these discovery since 2017 and I discover whole map almost on every game versions including all expansions and reworks.
Hidden Roads Study – March, 13 2026
Since the last update we have numerous new secret roads in ATS 1 .58 I was thinking about updating the guide for America – I found already 18 new hidden roads and still in progress (mostly checking the correctness of them than discovery). But I believe soon we will see also new Illinois DLC so can expect new secrets on that new state. Unfortunately youtube rank and promote older videos first and below guides have a very bad discoverability and low views. So I don’t want to spent a lot of time for guide with 700 views.

I’m sharing found hidden secret roads in both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 periodically since 2022 when this feature been released on ETS2 and ATS 1.44. But maybe right now it is time to freeze the series and let others do this job.

With version 1.58 of both games, the situation is a bit different.
In ETS2, we still have 100% map completion, and the guide below remains fully up to date.
However, in ATS, we received a major map update with the Route 66 rework. With the American guide below, you will now reach only about 96% completion out of the box. I’m still running deliveries and haven’t reached 100% yet. Most likely, I will skip this version and won’t create a dedicated guide for it.
The reasons are quite simple: time is very limited on my side, and there’s relatively low audience interest in ATS 100% guides. On top of that, we’re expecting the Illinois DLC this spring.
That said, if I finish my discovery soon and see no signs of ATS 1.59 or a new map expansion by the end of March, I may share the updated strings — at least for Patreon subscribers.

This guide is little outdated if you switched to 1.58, where there are extra roads added but it is still actual and can be used to start with kind of 96%. And for 1.57 with Pelican State (Louisiana) here is whole 100% profile and source file.
Obviously you need all map DLC and as always I would like to remind you to back up before doing anything with your profiles.
