Hidden Roads Study – January, 15 2025
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I’ve finished discovering all the new hidden roads in ETS2, including the refreshed Scandinavia and Nordic Horizon DLC content. We now have an impressive total of 109 secret roads across Europe! There will be two videos covering this: one featuring Nordic and Scandinavia footage, and another recap showing all ETS2 hidden road locations on the map. The bad news is that these videos haven’t been getting much traction. This isn’t your fault—it’s simply how YouTube’s algorithm promotes content. Unfortunately, this creates a challenge: these videos require significantly more time to create than they generate in visibility and engagement. Because of this, the Hidden Roads Study series will likely be put on hold or possibly discontinued. I’ll be focusing more on other types of guides and spending time enjoying the games themselves.
As for ATS, things are looking good! I’ve found 245 hidden roads so far. While the guide has only gotten around 400 views over the last 3 weeks, it’s still the most comprehensive hidden roads guide for American Truck Simulator available on YouTube.
I’m sharing found hidden secret roads in both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 periodically since 2022 when this feature been released on ETS2 and ATS 1.44. It is probably won’t help you with exact secrets locations but you can check if you missed any.

100% discovered study 01.09.2026
If you are a fan of ETS2 and ATS maps discoverability, like I am, and have no time and desire to visit every small part of map, then Trucksim is the best source since periodically after the game updates, new expansion and reworks I discover the roads and cities and share not only profile but also a text version with strings which you can inject to your game.sii and get the same results in couple minutes. Unfortunately it consumes a lot of my time and effort (both discovery and video guides). But I receive in return your positive feedback, likes and guides views on Youtube.
I’m trying to optimize the process and e.g. for American Truck Simulator do AI voiceover and reuse the guide so the ATS tutorial video many times faster (and I share this more often.)
Currently we have 100% in ATS 1.57 with new Louisiana DLC and you see the guide below and I’m on the home stretch in Europe as well so probably ETS2 guide with Nordic Horizons and Scandinavia refresh will be done in January. As well as secret roads guide.
If you’re using older strings (for instance for 1.56) they will sill work but undiscovered areas will remain grey.

I do these discovery since 2017 and I discover whole map almost on every game versions including all expansions and reworks.

New Hidden Roads in ETS2 1.57
Even before the Nordic Horizon released and Scandinavia is just in ETS2 1.57 open beta I found the first hidden road in Denmark near Esbjerg. It comes with secret viewpoint Oddesund Bridge (Oddesundbroen). And I believe it is only beginning.
The guide for secret roads for ETS2 is way long did not get any updates since the Greece DLC and was refreshed in April of 2025. I believe with Scandinavia refresh and Nordic Horizons DLC we will find new hidden easter eggs.

ETS2 1.57 Open Beta
Open Beta for the 1.57 is now available to try and test out!
1.57 is a big update which not only include a lot of game improvements and features but also a bridge to new maps DLCs for both ETS2 and ATS. Louisiana for ATS and Nordic Horizons for ETS2.
Update for Euro Truck Simulator is now available and the American one will probably will come soon as well. In Europe 1.57 brings the long-awaited refresh for the Scandinavia DLC with not only updated textures, vegetation, road assets rest stops and fuel stations but also major overhaul of the road network: custom-designed junctions replacing old prefabs and map additions, including the brand-new cities of Aarhus in Denmark and Karlstad in Sweden, along with a completely rebuilt Copenhagen featuring modern infrastructure and landmark recreations to enrich the network and scenery.
We still have no evidence of new hidden roads coming with this refresh but hope we will add some secrets to the guide.
Dynamic Loading and Unloading, Reworked Logos and Paintjobs, DLCs updates
We already knew about new dynamic loading/unloading feature which came to Europe from ATS.
Updated logos and paintjob also was revealed in latest news.
But in ETS2 it is also will be available updates for existent DLCs: new cargos for Special Transport and new setups for Krone Trailer Pack.
Scania Trucks Big Update
Scania R & S in 1.57 will get the newest SUPER engines (420–560 hp) and V8 powertrains (590, 660, 770 hp) alongside Opticruise G25, G33, G38 CM, and CMR transmissions. Inside, drivers can enjoy Scania’s new Smart Dash and Smart Dash Advanced interiors, available in several variants. On the outside, there are fresh customization options such as SUPER badges, sensor-equipped fenders, and official Scania SUPER and 770 paint jobs for both trucks and trailers.
