American Truck Simulator: 1.59 Open Beta
SCS Software released beta version of ATS 1.59 and as always you can read about all changes of the official blog. To try beta go to Steam client → LIBRARY → right-click on American Truck Simulator → Properties → Betas tab → Beta Participation drop-down menu → public_beta. No password is required. Sometimes you will have to restart your Steam client to see the correct branch name there.

Map Combo Study 02.06.2025 (Final for 1.57)
Open Beta 1.58 for both games is available now and I will not update map combo setups for 1.57 unless minor fixes of links will come. With official news about game version 1.58 starting to surface, it’s safe to assume that an open beta is just around the corner. 1.58 is major update so we have to give the modding community some time to adapt to the new features and technical changes and release new vesions of their maps.
Until that happens, we still have large and stable map combos available for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Big for US and Giga for Europe.
There are already well-established rules and best practices that help avoid conflicts and common mistakes I’ve covered in Beginner’s Guide, which I strongly recommend watching before building or updating your map combo. It will save you time, prevent recurring issues, and help you create a stable and enjoyable setup from the start.

Euro Truck Simulator 2: 1.58 Open Beta
After couple days after America we have a chance to test new features of version 1.58 in Europe. It is also major update with significant changes in the game including UX/UI, physics and new Route advisor. Good news for fans of Driving Academy as well. Also in ETS2 we have refresh for several trucks.

Undiscovered roads in ATS 1.58
For current public versions of the ATS on version 1.57, we are good. But after release of open beta for 1.58 we have about 4% of undiscovered roads – result of massive Rout 66 Rework. So, on my side it’s 96,29% and not only in states on the Route 66 but almost in all US territories probably since garages has been updates in whole map of current game. Good news for those who like to explore new roads. Reworked roads in 1.58 by mileage are bigger that one of the smallest states (like whole Iowa). I’m planning to hit the road on this weekend but my 100% in 1.58 is far away, so the next guide will be after the final release of ATS 1.58 or even after the new DLC will be delivered (I remind you that Illinois is also will be released this spring).

As I said last week we will see open beta for new version very soon and today, ATS started first. Please note that this not minor update bug big changes in the game including UI and UX and physics. Also it is rolling out the first stage of Route 66 Rework and we can see changes in Arizona and New Mexico.

ATS 1.57 Open beta
Following the ETS2 it has been started open beta test for American Truck Simulator 1.57. Comparing to European counterpart this change is not so impressive but is important for game evolution. Also we hope to see Louisiana DLC right after the final 1.57 release. Also the Road Trip Mode have to be debuted in 2026 and SCS make step on it with Gas Station tune-ups.

ETS2 1.57 Open Beta
Open Beta for the 1.57 is now available to try and test out!
1.57 is a big update which not only include a lot of game improvements and features but also a bridge to new maps DLCs for both ETS2 and ATS. Louisiana for ATS and Nordic Horizons for ETS2.
Update for Euro Truck Simulator is now available and the American one will probably will come soon as well. In Europe 1.57 brings the long-awaited refresh for the Scandinavia DLC with not only updated textures, vegetation, road assets rest stops and fuel stations but also major overhaul of the road network: custom-designed junctions replacing old prefabs and map additions, including the brand-new cities of Aarhus in Denmark and Karlstad in Sweden, along with a completely rebuilt Copenhagen featuring modern infrastructure and landmark recreations to enrich the network and scenery.
We still have no evidence of new hidden roads coming with this refresh but hope we will add some secrets to the guide.
Dynamic Loading and Unloading, Reworked Logos and Paintjobs, DLCs updates
We already knew about new dynamic loading/unloading feature which came to Europe from ATS.
Updated logos and paintjob also was revealed in latest news.
But in ETS2 it is also will be available updates for existent DLCs: new cargos for Special Transport and new setups for Krone Trailer Pack.
Scania Trucks Big Update
Scania R & S in 1.57 will get the newest SUPER engines (420–560 hp) and V8 powertrains (590, 660, 770 hp) alongside Opticruise G25, G33, G38 CM, and CMR transmissions. Inside, drivers can enjoy Scania’s new Smart Dash and Smart Dash Advanced interiors, available in several variants. On the outside, there are fresh customization options such as SUPER badges, sensor-equipped fenders, and official Scania SUPER and 770 paint jobs for both trucks and trailers.

ETS2 1.56 Released
A couple days after American release of 1.56, SCS pushed the update for ETS2 and as well as in ATS here we have see no significant changes from open beta branch. Base game changes like new Profiles UI or Height Blend effect are the same as in ATS but in European sim some new content revealed for DLCs.
