Cruising Louisiana event is still goes on
As always with the new DLC for American Truck Simulator we get World of Trucks event and this time it’s #CruisingLouisiana – typical but still attractive since we can discover new state and get another trophy on ours Wotr page.

Rules and rewards are pretty equal as for other “Cruising” events so if if you played it once just apply to the new names or read details in SCS Blog.

Christmas 2025 World of Trucks Event
Traditionally in December we get a new event from SCS Software and as last couple years we will do deliveries to Winterland – fictional country with frosty roads, snowing and magic locations. #WovenWondersOfWinterland in 2025 getting a massive update – now in mystical area we have AI traffic so hauls will not look like we are the only truck in this area.

Details, rules and rewards as always explained on SCS Blog. As always I wish you happy trucking. Drive save on frosty roads.
Illinois the first map DLC in 2026
Upcoming expansion for American Truck Simulator of Illinois State is probably will the first map DLC in 2026, in Spring. Illinois is important part of Midwest and American roads system. We have numerous teasers from SCS media channels and I collected all available footages for this moment. It is all work in progress for now and not all details of new map DLC are clear but at least we know that following cities will be presented: Bloomington, Champaign, Chicago, Effingham, East St. Louis, Marion, Moline, Peoria, Rockford, Springfield, Quincy.

After Illinois we will see another state DLC – North Dakota and the next step hopefully will be in Canadian British Columbia expansion.
235 Hidden Roads in ATS 1.57 (without Louisiana). Secret Roads, Towns and Easter eggs
The guide contains 235+ hidden roads in 18 states (excluding Louisiana DLC) on American Truck Simulator. It is actual for December 2025, on ATS 1.57.
Some roads are periodically disappear during map reworks and some new are being added in new game versions. Mostly I added marked roads but also some easter eggs are available.
And we are waiting the new states soon – already released Louisiana, announced Illinois and South Dakota.
I tried to avoid spoilers, mark only locations and removed hidden roads footages but if you prefer to to discover all hidden roads and secrets yourself better to skip the video.
Hidden and secret roads doesn’t affect percentage of map discovery.

Map Combo Study 12.08.2025
With the version 1.57 for ETS2 and ATS we got new content expansions in Europe and America and in both games and not all mods are properly merged with them. So while you can update some mods and just go to the road, bigger setups may not be so easy especially when we talk about combined map mods. So the maximal and stable map combos are around the corner but I would recommend to stay on vanilla (base game+DLC) or roll back to 1.56 to run mega setups. Obviously on 1.56 you can’t enjoy Nordic Horizons or Louisiana but it is still a solution for max coverage.
Setups for 1.57 (especially European) are tricky and I’m on wip stage but it is Holidays period and I have not enough time to test combos so it takes time. No one like broken roads and CTDs so below you will find combos that works on 1.57 for ETS2 and 1.56 for ATS, and both setups doesn’t require latest map DLC (NH, Louisiana).
WIP and plans:
ETS2 1.57:
Map Combo with incorporated Nordic Horizons (soon)
Map combo without NH but bigger size (later in December)
ATS 1.57:
Map combo with incorporated Louisiana DLC (next week or later)
As always I strongly recommend to start with beginner’s guide and do not ask same questions again and again in the comments and TG channel.
Before you start please always check if the guide you see latest and actual (check dates and videos availability). Please also follow rules and requirements – correct load order, DLCs compatibility and avoid extra mods that did not mentioned in the guide. In some cases you need to create new profile for stable work of maps especially if your old profile have pieces of deleted mods, garages, trucks etc.
Every single mod (not only map) can break the game and you will have a problems. I do not support stolen or pirated content so if you use it – Trucksim isn’t your place.

Louisiana DLC – tomorrow and the event
New DLC for American Truck Simulator will be released tomorrow altogether with new World of Trucks event #CruisingLouisiana

Rules and rewards are pretty equal as for other “Cruising” events so if if you played it once just apply to the new names or read details in SCS Blog.

100% discovered study 12.02.2025
It is so many map related news in our favorite truck simulator games, so on my side all previous guides and files are currently outdated. While in America until the release of new Louisiana DLC we have more or less 100% discovered, in Europe I have about 89% with Nordic horizons and Scandinavia refresh. And I don’t know how big is Louisiana DLC.

Since 2017 I discover whole map almost on every game versions including all expansions and reworks. Some map updates take a lot of time but some is pretty small and can be discovered in couple days. Nordic Horizons, refreshed Scandinavia and Louisiana will probably finished in 2026. And as soon as my progress will be finished I will share it on Youtube and here the blog.

If you’re still on 1.56 and own new DLCs below you can find guides for both games. They will work on newer versions but undiscovered areas will remain grey.

ATS British Columbia DLC – Expansion to Canada
American Truck Simulator is going to Canada in 2026-2027 and I did a podcast about it.
The Painting Livestream Announcement
So, picture this: SCS Software goes live on their channel, and instead of the usual gameplay footage or developer interview, there’s just… someone painting. Like, actual brush-on-canvas painting. No explanation, no commentary at first – just art.
The community immediately went into speculation mode. Chat was going crazy trying to figure out what was happening. As the painting developed, you started seeing these massive mountains, dense forests, and this absolutely stunning natural landscape taking shape.
And then it clicked for people – those aren’t just any mountains. That’s the Pacific Northwest. That’s British Columbia.

What made this announcement so brilliant was how perfectly it captured the essence of what BC is known for – its breathtaking natural beauty. Instead of just dropping a trailer, SCS turned the announcement into an experience. The painting itself became a piece of art that represented the region, and watching it come together in real-time mirrored the excitement of watching the DLC itself take shape.
The community loved it. People were simultaneously trying to guess the location, celebrating that ATS was finally crossing the border, and just appreciating the artistic approach. It set the tone perfectly – this wasn’t just another map expansion, this was something special.
Breaking New Ground: ATS Goes International
Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room – or should I say, the moose in the room? American Truck Simulator was going to Canada. This might not sound like a huge deal at first, but it represented a massive shift for the game and came with some serious challenges.
Challenge #1: The Border Crossing
First and most obviously – how do you handle an international border? This isn’t like crossing from California into Nevada. There are customs, border checkpoints, different regulations. SCS had to decide how much realism to include without making it tedious for players. Do you simulate the whole border crossing experience? Do you simplify it? It’s a delicate balance between authenticity and gameplay.
Challenge #2: Standards and Systems
Here’s where it gets technical. Canada uses the metric system. Road signs are in kilometers, not miles. Speed limits are km/h, not mph. Weight restrictions are in kilograms and tonnes, not pounds and tons.
Then there are the road signs themselves – Canadian signage looks different from US signage. The design language, the symbols, the colors – they all have to be authentic. SCS is known for their attention to detail, so they couldn’t just slap different numbers on American signs and call it a day.
Traffic laws also differ. British Columbia has its own provincial regulations, road rules, and highway systems that don’t exactly match what American truckers deal with.
Challenge #3: Geography and Scale
British Columbia is HUGE. We’re talking about a province that’s bigger than many US states, with incredibly diverse geography. You’ve got the Pacific coastline, the Rocky Mountains, temperate rainforests, interior plateaus, and vast wilderness areas.
Capturing that variety while maintaining the game’s map scale is no small feat. How do you represent the Sea-to-Sky Highway’s dramatic elevation changes? How do you do justice to the Fraser Canyon? These are some of the most spectacular driving roads in North America, and they had to translate into the game in a way that felt authentic but was still drivable and fun.
Challenge #4: Research and Reference Material
Developing a map of US states is one thing – SCS is based in the Czech Republic, but the US has extensive street view coverage, tons of reference photos, and plenty of accessible information.
But expanding to a new country means building relationships with new government agencies, tourism boards, and local experts. They needed permission to use landmarks, accurate data for road layouts, and cultural consultants to make sure everything felt genuinely Canadian, not just “America with different signs.”
Challenge #5: The Name Itself
There’s even a philosophical question here: Is it still “American Truck Simulator” when you’re driving through Canada? Some in the community joked that it should be renamed “North American Truck Simulator.” But ATS is a brand at this point, and the expansion shows that the vision for the game has always been bigger than just the United States.
Why British Columbia Was the Perfect Choice
Despite these challenges – or maybe because of them – British Columbia was actually the ideal first Canadian province for ATS.
Geographically, it shares a border with Washington state, which was already in the game. This made integration more natural than, say, jumping straight to Ontario.
BC is also a major economic region with strong trade connections to the US, especially through ports like Vancouver. Trucking between BC and Washington is a real, vital industry, so it made sense from a gameplay and realism perspective.
And let’s be honest – British Columbia is absolutely gorgeous. Those mountain highways, coastal routes, and forest roads are bucket-list drives for real truckers. It was an opportunity for SCS to showcase some truly spectacular scenery.
What This Means for ATS’s Future
The British Columbia DLC wasn’t just about adding one more region to the map. It was proof of concept that ATS could expand beyond its original scope. It opened the door for future Canadian provinces – Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario – and showed that the game’s vision could encompass the entire continent.
It also demonstrated SCS Software’s commitment to authenticity. They didn’t take the easy route. They put in the work to make Canada feel like Canada, not just “snow America.”
Hidden Roads Study – November, 24 2025
As you know I’m sharing found hidden secret roads in both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 periodically. Latest available guides with hidden roads is still actual but we have updates in ETS2 1.57 on refreshed Scandinavia, where I found at least 4 roads already, and will be more on Nordic Horizon DLC soon. In ATS, I assume, we will see also brand new secret paths with Louisiana DLC which will be released on December, 4. So for now I will not update guides until all these hidden roads will be discovered. I hope it will happen in 2025 but not sure because currently I have not enough time in the games.
Actual list of cities with hidden roads for Europe and America will be updated periodically here https://trucksim.top/y9t6. It is probably won’t help you with exact secrets locations but you can check if you missed any.
ETS2 (updated 04.25.2025, actual on 1.57 without Scandinavia Refresh and Nordic Horizon DLC, 80 roads so far)

ATS (updated 08.23.2025, actual on 1.57 without Louisiana, 235 roads so far)

Unfortunately, YouTube search results often prioritize older videos, so even though I’m updating descriptions, outdated guides still rank higher in search results. Please always check if a more recent and updated guide is available.
