The World of Trucks event – Cruising Nordic Horizons started with new DLC for ETS2 and if you’re still not joining – it is the chance to discover nice cities, roads and landscapes of Northern Europe and get some in-game perks like truck skit or cabin decorations. Rules of the event is pretty clear if you ever attended to SCS events – bring cargo with External contracts for or from cities of the new DLC.
Me personally already finished my goals as well as Community – goal reached couple days before. But you have time until February 1st of 2026.
It is so many map related news in our favorite truck simulator games, so on my side most previous guides and files are currently outdated. But I have some progress – ATS on 1.57 with new Louisiana DLC is almost done and the guide will be released in 2025, but in Europe I have only 92.75% with Nordic Horizons and Scandinavia refresh. So European update will take time and will be released in 2026. I concentrated on finding secret roads as well so while in US it is all shown in video, for Nordic Europe I found dozen of roads and discovery is still goes on.
If you’re still on 1.56 below you can find guides for both games. They will work on newer versions but undiscovered areas will remain grey.
Since 2017 I discover whole map almost on every game versions including all expansions and reworks. Some map updates take a lot of time but some is pretty small and can be discovered in couple days. Nordic Horizons, refreshed Scandinavia and Louisiana will probably finished in 2026. And as soon as my progress will be finished I will share it on Youtube and here the blog.
The guide contains 245 hidden roads in 19 states (including Louisiana DLC) on American Truck Simulator. It is actual for January 2026, on ATS 1.57. Some roads are periodically disappear during map reworks and some new are being added in new game versions. Mostly I added marked roads but also some easter eggs are available. And we are waiting the new states in 2026 – announced Illinois and South Dakota, expansion to Canada in British Columbia. I tried to avoid spoilers, mark only locations and removed hidden roads footages but if you prefer to to discover all hidden roads and secrets yourself better to skip the video. Hidden and secret roads doesn’t affect percentage of map discovery.
On the current version ETS2 1.57 we can combine map mods with or without Nordic Horizons DLC since Promods overlaps new expansion and I hold 2 setups – Mega Combo and Nordic Combo. Horizonless combo is good for them who still did not purchased latest SCS DLC and for fans of Promods (and its numerous add-ons). This setup includes Promods, Roextended, Rusmap, EAA, Eurafrica, Poland Rebuilding, Grand Utopia and other maps. 45 maps, 93 files, RCs, fixes. As always please follow the instructions in video and note that combo designed to version 1.57 and requires all map DLCs (Nordic Horizons is optional and will not be available in this particular setup). As always with the new DLC for American Truck Simulator we get World of Trucks event and this time it’s #CruisingLouisiana – typical but still attractive since we can discover new state and get another trophy on ours Wotr page.
Rules and rewards are pretty equal as for other “Cruising” events so if if you played it once just apply to the new names or read details in SCS Blog.
