Supporting Trucksim: Help Keep This Resource Free for Everyone
Hello everyone,
I wanted to have an honest conversation with you about Trucksim and its future.
What This Project Is
For over 5 years, I’ve been creating detailed map combo tutorials, hidden road guides, and 100% discovered profiles for both ETS2 and ATS. Every major game update, every DLC release, every map mod version – I’m there documenting it, testing combinations, and making sure you have working setups.
The blog (trucksim.top) and YouTube channel exist because I genuinely love this community and these games. But here’s the reality: this is a hobby that takes significant time and effort.
The Real Numbers
Currently, the YouTube channel generates about $40-50 per month from ads. To put that in perspective:
- Each map combo tutorial takes 6-10 hours (testing, recording, editing, writing)
- 100% map discovery guides take 50-60 hours of gameplay per version
- Hidden roads compilations require meticulous exploration and documentation
- The blog requires constant updates, hosting, and maintenance
I earn more in a couple hours at my regular job than the channel generates in a month. This has always been about community contribution, not income.
Why I’m Setting Up Patreon
I want to keep creating these guides. The community clearly finds them valuable – you watch them, use the profiles, and follow the tutorials. But as the games grow more complex (70+ map combos, 245 hidden roads just in ATS, massive map expansions), the time commitment keeps increasing.
Patreon isn’t about getting rich. It’s about making this sustainable as a hobby without feeling like I’m working for free.

The Bottom Line
If 50 people support at $3/month, that’s $150 – roughly what it costs me in time to maintain this project monthly at a minimum wage equivalent. If 100 people support at $3/month, I can justify dedicating more regular time to this instead of feeling guilty about not working on paid projects.

Benelux Rework for ETS2 in 2026
This is a very promising update we are waiting for, because it will finally refresh old areas in Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Coach Buses in TruckersMP
TruckersMP – popular multiplayer community – announced partnership with mod team Heavy Vehicles Turkey and coach buses in TMP, enabling to transport passengers across Europe.
Until recently, TruckersMP supported the DBus World tool, allowing to create and drive bus routes. In the coming months it will be introduced a new coach bus and bus line feature, eliminating the need to install a third-party tool.
The new coach bus will be automatically downloaded via the TruckersMP launcher, like any other TruckersMP update.
You can create and drive routes in-game.
Passengers will be waiting at bus stops and will enter your bus one by one.
Statistics such as punctuality will affect your payout.
SCS Software is expected to launch a similar feature as DLC. TruckersMP don’t want to copy their functionality, but embrace the multiplayer aspect that only we can deliver. The DLC will not be required to make use of the feature.

New Promods 2.80 is major release so it contains not only compatibility but also integration with new map DLC Nordic Horizons and refreshed Scandinavia. You can enjoy new version on the latest ETS2 1.57 but now all map DLC are required. In the guide below as always you will find step by step instruction, but please watch carefully and don’t ask about archives on the Youtube.

Cruising Nordic Horizons Event is still live
The World of Trucks event – Cruising Nordic Horizons started with new DLC for ETS2 and if you’re still not joining – it is the chance to discover nice cities, roads and landscapes of Northern Europe and get some in-game perks like truck skit or cabin decorations. Rules of the event is pretty clear if you ever attended to SCS events – bring cargo with External contracts for or from cities of the new DLC.
Me personally already finished my goals as well as Community – goal reached couple days before. But you have time until February 1st of 2026.
Cruising Louisiana event is still goes on
As always with the new DLC for American Truck Simulator we get World of Trucks event and this time it’s #CruisingLouisiana – typical but still attractive since we can discover new state and get another trophy on ours Wotr page.
Rules and rewards are pretty equal as for other “Cruising” events so if if you played it once just apply to the new names or read details in SCS Blog.
Christmas 2025 World of Trucks Event
Traditionally in December we get a new event from SCS Software and as last couple years we will do deliveries to Winterland – fictional country with frosty roads, snowing and magic locations. #WovenWondersOfWinterland in 2025 getting a massive update – now in mystical area we have AI traffic so hauls will not look like we are the only truck in this area.

Illinois the first map DLC in 2026
Upcoming expansion for American Truck Simulator of Illinois State is probably will the first map DLC in 2026, in Spring. Illinois is important part of Midwest and American roads system. We have numerous teasers from SCS media channels and I collected all available footages for this moment. It is all work in progress for now and not all details of new map DLC are clear but at least we know that following cities will be presented: Bloomington, Champaign, Chicago, Effingham, East St. Louis, Marion, Moline, Peoria, Rockford, Springfield, Quincy.
After Illinois we will see another state DLC – North Dakota and the next step hopefully will be in Canadian British Columbia expansion.
Guide How to Download and Setup Promods 2.77
New Promods 2.77 is mostly compatibility release and it doesn’t friendly to new map DLC Nordic Horizons, overlap it and even if you purchased it you will see Promods content instead of vanilla. But if you are ready for this trade off or still have no Nordic Expansion you can enjoy new version on the latest ETS2 1.57. In the guide below as always you will find step by step instruction, but please watch carefully and don’t ask about archives on the Youtube.
