I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I’ve finished discovering all the new hidden roads in ETS2, including the refreshed Scandinavia and Nordic Horizon DLC content. We now have an impressive total of 109 secret roads across Europe! There will be two videos covering this: one featuring Nordic and Scandinavia footage, and another recap showing all ETS2 hidden road locations on the map. You can see the complete list of cities with hidden paths here: https://trucksim.top/y9t6, though the video guides will take some time to produce.

The bad news is that these videos haven’t been getting much traction. This isn’t your fault—it’s simply how YouTube’s algorithm promotes content. Unfortunately, this creates a challenge: these videos require significantly more time to create than they generate in visibility and engagement. Because of this, the Hidden Roads Study series will likely be put on hold or possibly discontinued. I’ll be focusing more on other types of guides and spending time enjoying the games themselves.

As for ATS, things are looking good! I’ve found 245 hidden roads so far. While the guide has only gotten around 400 views over the last 3 weeks, it’s still the most comprehensive hidden roads guide for American Truck Simulator available on YouTube.

I’m sharing found hidden secret roads in both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 periodically since 2022 when this feature been released on ETS2 and ATS 1.44. It is probably won’t help you with exact secrets locations but you can check if you missed any.

ETS2 (updated 04.25.2025, actual on 1.57 without Scandinavia Refresh and Nordic Horizon DLC, 80 roads so far)

ATS (updated 12.26.2025, actual on 1.57 with Louisiana DLC, 245 roads so far)

I wanted to have an honest conversation with you about Trucksim and its future.

What This Project Is

For over 5 years, I’ve been creating detailed map combo tutorials, hidden road guides, and 100% discovered profiles for both ETS2 and ATS. Every major game update, every DLC release, every map mod version – I’m there documenting it, testing combinations, and making sure you have working setups.

The blog (trucksim.top) and YouTube channel exist because I genuinely love this community and these games. But here’s the reality: this is a hobby that takes significant time and effort.

The Real Numbers

Currently, the YouTube channel generates about $40-50 per month from ads. To put that in perspective:

Each map combo tutorial takes 6-10 hours (testing, recording, editing, writing)
100% map discovery guides take 50-60 hours of gameplay per version
Hidden roads compilations require meticulous exploration and documentation
The blog requires constant updates, hosting, and maintenance

I earn more in a couple hours at my regular job than the channel generates in a month. This has always been about community contribution, not income.

As I mentioned in the latest setup, please hold on a bit longer – a better map combo will be available soon. Today, on January 13, we are ready to update. In addition to the base maps, I’ve added some smaller updates, and I would now consider this map combination as “Giga” rather than “Mega” (not only in the number of mods but also in area coverage). Thanks to the updated Hybrid RC, we can now combine Roextended with PM 2.80, RM 2.57.1 and PR as well. (If you know all these acronyms, you’re good!)
Today’s combo includes latest Promods, Roextended, Hybrid Connection, Rusmap, EAA, Eurafrica, Poland Rebuilding, Silesia, Beyond, Grand Utopia and other maps. 70 maps, 155 files, RCs, fixes. As always please follow the instructions in video and note that combo designed to version 1.57 and requires all map DLCs (including Nordic Horizons). Paid mods are optional. Extra mods are not recommended unless they are compatible with other mods and tested.

Mega map combo for ETS2 1.57 is still baking since the latest one (below) was be a bit controversial and a temporary patch (primary to combine Promods 2.80 and Nordic Horizons and add Beyond). New one which I hope to finish on the weekend or later next week will be much bigger and more saturated. For ATS is more or less clear and latest Louisiana combo is working well and American setups is on pause for now.

As always I strongly recommend to start with beginner’s guide and do not ask same questions again and again in the comments and TG channel.

Before you start please always check if the guide you see latest and actual (check dates and videos availability). Please also follow rules and requirements – correct load order, DLCs compatibility and avoid extra mods that did not mentioned in the guide. In some cases you need to create new profile for stable work of maps especially if your old profile have pieces of deleted mods, garages, trucks etc.
Every single mod (not only map) can break the game and you will have a problems. I do not support stolen or pirated content so if you use it – Trucksim isn’t your place.
