My golden rule is Every Road Must Be Traveled, Map Have To Be Discovered. So since 2017 I do it almost on every game update including all expansions and reworks. This obsession has driven me through countless game updates, expansions, and complete map reworks across both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. Some map updates take a lot of time but some is pretty small and can be discovered in couple days. When you switch to another profile and don’t want to start map discovery from the scratch it is possible to transfer opened road to another profile. So I do it sometimes with newer profiles for both games (ETS2 and ATS) and also periodically share my progress in Youtube guides

The new update 1.56 for both games has been released recently and we have blank spots in vanilla maps with DLCs.
Current Discovery Status:
Euro Truck Simulator 2: 99.97% complete
American Truck Simulator: 99.99% complete
These percentages are based on the previous 1.55 version with all available map expansions
While I may update my guides later but if you follow my Youtube and blog you can achieve 100% completion on version 1.56 quickly, before the next wave of road reworks or DLC releases arrive

I explored 100% of Hawkeye State finally and in the video I’m sharing the guide how to do it on your side as well as tools and files. Please note that these files are actual for current state of the game in August 2025 on ATS 1.55 and can be partially will work on later versions but always check if the new update available for this topic.
Obviously you need all map DLC and as always I would like to remind you to back up before doing anything with your profiles.

All My Eurotruck Map Discovery Story
I decided to create a podcast-style episode about Euro Truck Simulator 2, focusing on its map expansions and my personal journey through the years and various versions of the game. Since version 1.55, one of the most challenging ETS2 achievements – Pathfinder – has undergone a significant change. Previously, obtaining this achievement required discovering 100% of the map, which was an incredibly demanding task. Now, you only need to drive 40,000 kilometers, which is much more achievable if you’re an active hauler. I actually earned this achievement back on March 7th, 2017, right after the Vive La France DLC release. This was during version 1.26, when the European map was considerably smaller than it is today.

If this video get at least couple thousand views (not sure it is possible) I will do the same for my American journey which is more saturated with DLCs.
How to open 100% map with all DLC (incl Missouri) in ATS 1.54 * Full Map Discovered, Guide, Profile
The guide is explaining how to open 100% discovered map in ATS 1.54 with all map DLC including fresh Missouri. I did the same guide periodically for ETS 2 and ATS but latest American guide was 5 month ago for Arkansas and later update for the final California rework. Since that it was made small tune-ups on vanilla and DLCs and then Missouri released.

The guide is explaining how to open 100% discovered map in ATS 1.52 with all map DLC including fresh Arkansas. But not includes reworked California. There are three ways.
1. Explore all rods yourself
