Nordic Horizons Release Date 11.27.2015
It is only couple weeks we have to wait for brand new ETS2 DLC. That also means that final release of 1.57 will be even earlier. Prepare your money, prepare profile without mods, get ready for new event (Cruising Nordic Horizons:))
And how can I keep silence – the biggest surprise on the picture above is the truck. FH16 780. It’s not announced yet but pictures on the internet doesn’t lie;)

Nordic Horizons DLC is around the corner, after ETS2 1.57 release
We still have no release date of new DLC Nordic Horizons for ETS2, but most likely it will be available in Steam after the release of 1.57 version of the game. This new big DLC will expand new roads in Nordic Countries – Sweden, Norway and Finland.
SCS is teasing new updates as never before, so in below video I collected not only footages and trailer but also 2 gameplay sessions.
New Hidden Roads in ETS2 1.57
Even before the Nordic Horizon released and Scandinavia is just in ETS2 1.57 open beta I found the first hidden road in Denmark near Esbjerg. It comes with secret viewpoint Oddesund Bridge (Oddesundbroen). And I believe it is only beginning.
The guide for secret roads for ETS2 is way long did not get any updates since the Greece DLC and was refreshed in April of 2025. I believe with Scandinavia refresh and Nordic Horizons DLC we will find new hidden easter eggs.

Nordic Horizons DLC will come soon, after ETS2 1.57 release
We still have no release date of new DLC for ETS2 – Nordic Horizons, but we have good signals that the expansion will be released soon in 2025. Early trailer and gameplay preview from SCS usually means that the DLC is in final pre-release stage and since we never have open betas for chargeable content we get Nordic Horizon instantly. First time beta gameplay of new DLC was available for visitors of PoznaÅ„ Game Arena in PoznaÅ„, in Poland.
It is most likely will be released after the release of 1.57 version of the game.
It will be probably challenge for map mod community – they have to adapt to new DLC or even merge with their content if the new area with collide with existing mod structure (e.g Promods). The mods locked on the game version can also loose compatibility but it usually resolvable faster than maps rebuilds or merges.
We are waiting for new big DLC of expanded new roads in Nordic Countries – Sweden, Norway and Finland and also waiting for Scandinavia rebuild which will be good update for this DLC.

Hidden Roads Study – October, 14 2025
I’m sharing found hidden secret roads in both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 periodically. While in Europe we don’t have new marked roads since the Greece release (2024) in US we go to state after state and in latest Iowa have plenty of nice secrets. I believe in ETS2 with Nordic Horizon and Louisiana in ATS which will be released later this year SCS will show us new hidden paths and easter eggs.

We still have no release date of new DLC for ETS2 – Nordic Horizons, bug we have good signals that the expansion will be released soon in 2025. It is still discussable on which version of the game the DLC will come and it could be 1.56 or additional major version on this branch like 1.56.5 (as we got West Balkans on 1.48.5 instead of 1.49). Another option is early release on 1.57 with short lifecycle of current 1.56 version.

Nordic Horizons DLC Official Trailer
Along with the announcement for truck simulators release on consoles, SCS also revealed Official trailer for upcoming ETS2 expansion Nordic Horizons DLC. The trailer is in traditional dramatic style with no surprises. We still have no evidence that the expansion will be released in 2025 and so early trailer revealed is linked mostly to Gamescom where it was presented.
According to #SCS, development of this DLC took more than two years and 2 map development teams. And in terms of area it might be bigger that two latest DLC (Greece and West Balkans) together. For sure Nordic roads and lands not so saturated as Balkan small countries or Greece but we hope it will bring us amazing landscape mapping and long haul experience.
