We finally have full 100% discovered maps for ATS and ETS2 within version 1.57, but new challenges ahead. New games version is around the corner and at least in US we have massive map rework with Route 66 project. In Europe we will probably will not see Benelux Rework changes very soon. So now we have some time to hold and enjoy games.

Hidden Roads Study (Final in 1.57) – January, 27 2025
Looks like all hidden roads in ATS and ETS2 found at least for now on game version 1.57, so this digest will be probably appear later this year when I have something to tease and discover.

On the last digest I mentioned that Hidden Roads Study series will likely be put on hold or possibly discontinued and count of views of latest videos convince me to freeze it. Nevertheless below you can find the most comprehensive hidden roads guide for ATS and ETS2 for this moment. I’m not gonna transform to shorts, clickbait and fake speculations just for views or extra couple bucks.
I’m sharing found hidden secret roads in both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 periodically since 2022 when this feature been released on ETS2 and ATS 1.44. Map Combo Study 01.26.2025
With official news about game version 1.58 starting to surface, it’s safe to assume that an open beta is just around the corner. As always, a new major update means it’s time to rethink our map setups and give the modding community some time to adapt to the new features and technical changes.
Until that happens, we still have large and stable map combos available for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Most upcoming updates to these combos will likely focus on polishing, compatibility fixes, and minor improvements, with the possibility of a few new maps being added.
At this stage, it’s not yet clear how version 1.58 will affect maps and mod management overall. However, for the current game version, there are already well-established rules and best practices that help avoid conflicts and common mistakes. I’ve covered these in detail in my Beginner’s Guide, which I strongly recommend watching before building or updating your map combo. It will save you time, prevent recurring issues, and help you create a stable and enjoyable setup from the start.

Map Combination Beginners Guide and Secrets for ATS & ETS2 1.57 (2026)
Map Combos for SCS trucking games are not an easy for newcomers. So you can find lot of ready setups for actual version, including here on Trucksim, but before start better to avoid obvious mistakes. In this guide I’m explaining how to build map combo for Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) or American Truck Simulator (ATS), from how to download and combine maps, to tricks how to avoid crashes. 100% discovered study 01.24.2026
Currently we have 100% in ATS 1.57 with new Louisiana DLC and you see the guide below but in Europe took more time than I expected so probably ETS2 guide with Nordic Horizons and Scandinavia rework won’t be finished in January. Update is really big so it’s deserved to wait a little. For sure all the hidden roads will be in it but you can watch them right now in the video. The full guide is also still not ready but I hope this weekend it will be available on Patreon. But for 100% in ETS2 1.57 expected date is February 2026. If you’re using older strings (for instance for 1.56 below) they are still work but undiscovered areas will remain grey.

Cruising Nordic Horizons Event is still live until February, 1
The World of Trucks event – Cruising Nordic Horizons started with new DLC for ETS2 and if you’re still not joining – it is the chance to discover nice cities, roads and landscapes of Northern Europe and get some in-game perks like truck skin or cabin decorations. Rules of the event is pretty clear if you ever attended to SCS events – bring cargo with External contracts to or from cities of the new DLC.
Me personally already finished my goals. And Community goals reached so as soon as you finish it all the prizes will be open. But you have time until February 1st of 2026.
All Hidden Roads in Nordic Horizons and Scandinavia Reworks on ETS2 1.57

Hidden Roads Study – January, 15 2025
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I’ve finished discovering all the new hidden roads in ETS2, including the refreshed Scandinavia and Nordic Horizon DLC content. We now have an impressive total of 109 secret roads across Europe! There will be two videos covering this: one featuring Nordic and Scandinavia footage, and another recap showing all ETS2 hidden road locations on the map. The bad news is that these videos haven’t been getting much traction. This isn’t your fault—it’s simply how YouTube’s algorithm promotes content. Unfortunately, this creates a challenge: these videos require significantly more time to create than they generate in visibility and engagement. Because of this, the Hidden Roads Study series will likely be put on hold or possibly discontinued. I’ll be focusing more on other types of guides and spending time enjoying the games themselves.
As for ATS, things are looking good! I’ve found 245 hidden roads so far. While the guide has only gotten around 400 views over the last 3 weeks, it’s still the most comprehensive hidden roads guide for American Truck Simulator available on YouTube.

Giga Map Combo for ETS2 1.57 – Tutorial – January, 13 – 2026
As I mentioned in the latest setup, please hold on a bit longer – a better map combo will be available soon. Today, on January 13, we are ready to update. In addition to the base maps, I’ve added some smaller updates, and I would now consider this map combination as “Giga” rather than “Mega” (not only in the number of mods but also in area coverage). Thanks to the updated Hybrid RC, we can now combine Roextended with PM 2.80, RM 2.57.1 and PR as well. (If you know all these acronyms, you’re good!)
Today’s combo includes latest Promods, Roextended, Hybrid Connection, Rusmap, EAA, Eurafrica, Poland Rebuilding, Silesia, Beyond, Grand Utopia and other maps. 70 maps, 155 files, RCs, fixes. As always please follow the instructions in video and note that combo designed to version 1.57 and requires all map DLCs (including Nordic Horizons). Paid mods are optional. Extra mods are not recommended unless they are compatible with other mods and tested.

Map Combo Study 01.10.2025
Mega map combo for ETS2 1.57 is still baking since the latest one (below) was be a bit controversial and a temporary patch (primary to combine Promods 2.80 and Nordic Horizons and add Beyond). New one which I hope to finish on the weekend or later next week will be much bigger and more saturated. For ATS is more or less clear and latest Louisiana combo is working well and American setups is on pause for now.
As always I strongly recommend to start with beginner’s guide and do not ask same questions again and again in the comments and TG channel.
Before you start please always check if the guide you see latest and actual (check dates and videos availability). Please also follow rules and requirements – correct load order, DLCs compatibility and avoid extra mods that did not mentioned in the guide. In some cases you need to create new profile for stable work of maps especially if your old profile have pieces of deleted mods, garages, trucks etc.
Every single mod (not only map) can break the game and you will have a problems. I do not support stolen or pirated content so if you use it – Trucksim isn’t your place.
